Cowboys are ‘happy to move forward’ with LB Ryan Switzer

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Ryan Swizer has been suspended indefinitely by the team after an alleged domestic violence incident.

The NFL announced the suspension Saturday, citing Swizer’s conduct in a phone call that the league’s domestic violence prevention officer said was “a pattern of abusive behavior.”

Swizer was charged with one count of aggravated battery and was given the maximum fine of $5,000.

He will be eligible to return to the team on Dec. 6, a day before the regular season begins.

Switzer was released from the hospital Sunday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The Cowboys have yet to announce the terms of his suspension.

The team has not announced whether the case will be appealed.
